Camera Market vs Wallapop / Vinted: When to Use Each
P2P or marketplace with a warranty. Both have their place — we compare price, risk, returns, and after-sales support with real numbers.
Wallapop and Vinted are the most common options for buying a used camera in Spain. We are a marketplace with our own warranty and higher prices. Here are the real differences — without sugarcoating ours or demonizing theirs.

Where Wallapop / Vinted Wins
Net price. No debate: P2P prices are 10% to 20% lower. For a €1,000 body, that’s €100-200 in real savings. If the risk is acceptable to you, it’s money in your pocket.
Local availability. In big cities (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville), Wallapop has massive volume. For popular models (Canon RP, Sony A6400), there are usually 5-10 units listed in your city any given week. We have a large catalog but it’s centralized in a warehouse.
In-person negotiation. Wallapop lets you meet the seller, test the camera in person before paying, bring your own SD card, and shoot 50 photos. For paranoid photographers, this is gold. We can’t offer that because we sell to 7 countries from a single warehouse.
Professional photographer gear turnover. The best used cameras at good prices come from professional photographers who upgrade bodies every 2-3 years. Those people mostly sell on Wallapop to save on fees. If you have patience and well-set filters, you can find bargains.
Where Camera Market Wins
Zero hassle if something goes wrong. This is what really matters when you add it up:
| Scenario | On Wallapop | On Camera Market |
|---|---|---|
| AF rattles after 2 months | Now it’s your problem | Warranty covers it, free repair |
| Camera isn’t as described | Fight with seller who might block you | 14-day return, no questions asked |
| You need an invoice for VAT deduction | Not possible (private sale) | Yes, automatic |
| Seller discovers a defect and disappears | No real recourse | Not applicable — we’re a registered business |
| Camera arrives broken from shipping | Insurance claim takes 4-8 weeks, you’re left with nothing | We refund before insurance pays out |
Declared condition with real technical verification. On Wallapop, “perfect, no signs of use” can mean 80,000 shutter actuations and battery at 60% health. On Camera Market, we publish the exact shutter count, measured battery health, and workshop notes. If it says “Grade B,” there’s a documented checklist behind it. Read what we do to each camera.
European coverage. Shipping to 7 countries from a single warehouse with the same warranty and process. If you buy on Wallapop Spain and then move to Italy, the warranty doesn’t follow you. Ours does.
Human communication. Email answered in under 4 business hours. WhatsApp in under 2 hours. Landline phone. You’re talking to a team, not an individual who may or may not respond.
When to Choose Each Option
Choose Wallapop / Vinted if:
- The price difference matters to your budget (€200 does count).
- You’re an experienced photographer and can diagnose real condition by testing.
- You live in a big city with high P2P stock.
- You can meet in person and bring your own SD card to test.
- You accept the risk of zero warranty and zero returns.
Choose Camera Market if:
- The price difference is manageable (typically €100-200 on bodies over €800).
- You want the camera delivered to your door without travel.
- You don’t have experience diagnosing AF / sensor / shutter.
- You need a B2B invoice (freelancer, business).
- You want 12-month warranty just in case.
- If the camera arrives damaged, you don’t want to argue with an individual.
- You’re buying from outside Spain and will receive it via courier.
The Core Question
For an extra €200, you get 12-month warranty + technical verification + 14-day returns + European coverage. For some buyers, that’s worth the difference; for others, it’s not. Neither stance is wrong. Just make sure you choose consciously, knowing what you’re taking on with each decision.
We don’t compete with Wallapop on price. We compete with the uncertainty of buying from an individual. For many buyers, that’s worth the cost; for others, it’s not.
